Oh man! I was ready for this trip. My best friend Landon and I were headed Austin to see Santa Clause on a train. Does it get any better than this? Oh, it does! We headed to Landon’s house to meet up. Landon’s dad was driving, and so we had to load our stuff into…

Kaiventures
These stories are my adventures through the world told from a kids perspective. I welcome you to travel along with me on my adventures. The stories told here mostly accurate, somewhat exaggerated, and occasionally made up.
My Family
My Ma is a geographer. Specifically, a human geographer with an emphasis on tourism. She has written a few textbooks on the geography of tourism.
My Pa is in the restaurant business. He loves to cook and is pretty adventurous in the kitchen. He even went to culinary school in Italy.
My Perspective
From the day I was born, I was destined to be a world traveler. I had my passport at four months and my first stamp at seven months. Ma operates under a geographers rule (I really think it’s her own rule, but I ain’t complaining), visit a new country every year. To date, we have been successful!
I hope you enjoy my Kaiventures.
Lakehouse fun
Road trip time. We loaded up the car with food and floaties and headed to a lake house in East Texas with some of Pa’s friends. This was going to be an awesome weekend of swimming, jet skiing, and just good fun with friends. It started with me getting to know the “good” Liam. As…
Summer Camp – 2018
I was looking forward to my third summer camp with MeeMaw and PeePaw. Ohio summers are the best. Texas is just way too hot to enjoy. I take one step outside, and my hair looks like Pa’s when he is out opening restaurants… #crazyhair. Horses The first stop for every summer camp is to go…
Guadeloupe – The Sights
I love the beach, but this trip was more than just basking in the sun. Guadeloupe has a ton of activities, more than we could pack into a week-long trip. We set our sights on a few of the highlights and must-see places. We were based on Basse Terre, so most of our activities were…
Guadeloupe – Beach Fun
Off to the beach. We headed to the “butterfly” island of Guadeloupe. It is called the butterfly island because of its distinctive shape. Ma was here to do some work. I was here to have fun at the beach! We headed to our house for the week to get unpacked and settled in. It was…
Brazos Bend State Park
Pa’s oldest friend had recently married, and they threw a party down south of Houston. So we decided to pack up the car and make a weekend out of it. The party was great. There were a bunch of kids and a giant bounce house for all of us to play in. The property was…
Slovenia – The Coast
The Alps were great. But now we were headed to the coast for the real reason we were here. Ma was lecturing at Turistica in Portorož. So, we packed up and headed through Italy to get to the Slovenian coast. On the drive, we stopped a couple of times. Our first stop was in a…
Slovenia – The Alps
We landed at the Ljubljana airport just as the sun was setting. Flurries were falling. A friend of Ma’s met us at the airport. He helped us get our car and gave us some general direction to get to our hotel. By then it was dark, and the flurries had stopped. We hopped in the…
Vegas Baby…well not really!
Vegas Baby, ya! Well, I am only three, so I don’t think I can properly appreciate the magnitude of the Strip. But the Strip was not the reason we were here. We were headed out for some hiking adventures. However, we did stop for some food at the Bellagio. Pa wanted to place a bet…
The Canadian Rockies
We arrived in Banff after driving from Calgary. And what a drive it was. It went from flat plains to giant mountains over the course of the journey. It was really quite epic. What a way to start our trip. We made it to our hotel and got settled. It wasn’t very late but was…
